Wilkinson family

Louisa Mary Wilkinson was born in Hackney, Middlesex in 1844, the eldest daughter of Joseph Wilkinson (1820-1904) and his wife Louisa Sarah Thorpe (1812-1887). Her two sisters, Emma Ann and Martha Catherine did not marry.

Joseph Wilkinson started life as a joiner and became a reasonably prosperous builder, retiring to Edmonton, Middlesex with his two unmarried daughters. The Wilkinson sisters were seamstresses.

Joseph's parents were Joseph Wilkinson (1793-?) and Hannah Siddal of Sowersbury, near Halifax (1784-?) and his grandfather was John Wilkinson (dates unknown).
